Schools That Accept Second Choice

Below, you will also see the Nigerian universities listed differently than the ones listed above, which do not admit second-choice candidates, i.e., candidates who selected it as their second choice when they registered for the JAMB UTME.

Schools That Accept Second Choice

Second-choice candidates, i.e., candidates who selected it as their second choice when they registered for the JAMB UTME.

If you were looking for a good university for making a first or a second choice for an institution during JAMB registration, the following are federal. First, it is important to note that Nigeria has a lot of Federal, State, and Private universities accepting candidates who made their second choice of institution.

The universities that I am going to list below have made it clear to the public that they would in no way entertain any candidates that pick them as their second choice for admission.

List of State Universities for Second Choice 2022/2023 .
  • Abia State University, Uturu, Abia.
  • Adamawa State University, Mubi, Adamawa.
  • Akwa Ibom State University, Ikot-Akpaden, Akwa Ibom.
  • Anambra State University, Uli, Anambra.
  • Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, Bauchi.

Candidates seeking admission would like to know a list of universities in Nigeria which will not accept candidates who chose them as their second choice.

Interestingly, most popular universities would not be listed at all when they apply for the second (2nd) choice in the JAMB.

Given the huge number of schools in the country, counting down a list of universities accepting Second Choice would be easier, revealing first the ones not accepting Second Choice. Not all of them will accept you as a second choice, as they have also high numbers of applicants already selected as their first choice.

Even some applicants that want to choose two top-ranked universities as their 1st and 2nd choices are allowed to continue. The selection just means candidates are allowed to choose one state and one federal university as preferred choices while they are applying.

If you want to choose a Public University as your second choice, make sure that it is either a Federal or some other that you know is less competitive.

You may pick these as your 1st choice if you know that you are capable of paying tuition, as public universities and private universities are more expensive than Federal institutions.

In other words, to get into Aksu, you should make this University a first choice institution on your JAMB. If you do not, you will not get admitted into certain universities, even though you scored highly in JAMB and met all the admission requirements.

As I said earlier, if there is a certain school you did not pick as the first option, but want to apply to that school, simply make a change in JAMB institutions here. Before we move on, please know that even if you did not make the school your first choice, you are still eligible to apply for admission to the school.

Surely, this information would be helpful to those students who are currently applying for JAMB 2018 UTME and direct entrance admission, as well as useful when making your school selection for Supplementary Admission.

Make sure you conduct a rigorous study of your chosen universities before registering for JAMB exams to avoid making any stupid mistakes.

It is only newly established universities who are willing to admit you regardless of which school you chose during the JAMB process, as they are looking for more students. You should also bear in mind that very few universities are actually accepting right now.

In many people's opinions, most the popular and well-known universities actually accept to ensure only the best students are admitted every year.

The higher acceptance rates for candidates are increasing every day, making many universities cautious in giving admissions to aspirants that have chosen a university.

We realize that at such times, a lot of questions are asked of applicants intending to apply to be admitted at UNIBEN, with some asking for information on the likelihood of choosing UNIBEN as a second choice institution or considering other institutions.

UNIBEN is a Federal university, and only candidates who choose UNIBEN as their first choice and have met JAMBs cut-off marks are eligible to participate in this screening exercise.

Delta State Universities Accepted Candidates who chose Delsu as their first choice university and met the JAMB cut-off mark are eligible for applying at the University of Delsu.

From the above list, all federal and state universities, which have been around so long, would not give you admission if you chose all the federal and state universities as your second choice in the JAMB 2022, because they already have thousands of candidates each year that select them as the first choice.

This is a comprehensive list of universities in Nigeria which are not competitive, as previously announced by JAMB during its registration process in 2022.

As the registration for the 2022 JAMB examinations and post-UTME screening exercises kick off this year, we thought it prudent to provide you with the list of all the private, state, and federal universities which are accepting second-choice candidates for admission.

Previously, JAMB prohibited selecting two state universities as the first and second (2nd) choice while registering for the UTME, as most universities or institutions did not accept second-choice candidates applying.

If by any means, you have chosen these universities as your second choice during JAMB registration, then do not bother buying their form for the UTME screening, or better, get your JAMB form for changing institutions out ASAP.

Name some of those which improve the chances of getting admitted are candidates' enrolment region, choice of institutions (first or second choice chosen while registering for JAMB), and then there is your JAMB scores, O level results, and the score after the UTME.

In this form, you are asked to choose from three different choices of institutions that are preferred, Federal/State Institution, Private Institution, as well as Nigeria Polytechnic.

From research and statistics, it was found that most candidates admitted into the Federal universities of Nigeria are the ones that selected this institution as the first choice.

Candidates are advised to avoid losing their slots by applying for such universities because they will not be considered for admission.
